Make it Juicy! Add a Little Fresh Fruit!
Fresh Fruit
Everyone loves fruit! Fruit is a great addition to any menu, let alone a baby shower! Safe and healthy for guest, especially mommy-to-be. An affordable way to spruce up any menu! A great addition that will leave your guests wanting more :).
DIY!
Fruit Kabobs/Swekers
Cut up some in-season fruit and slide it onto some skewers for instant fruit kabobs! Slice and dice! Use cookie cutters to shape the fruit, or a small knife if you're brave!
Pineapple, watermelon, kiwi, honeydew, grapers, cantaloupe, strawberries, oranges...all make for great skewers.
Fruit Bowl
Hollow out a watermelon and fill it with scrumptious fruits.
OR
Present a fruit salad, with all different fruit mixed together. Makes for great "sauce" when juices mix together.
And as always, you can always search for someone to make them for you, or pick one up at your local supermarket.

NEWS RELEASE: DPH ALERTS DELAWAREANS ABOUT POWDER INFANT FORMULA RECALL
NEWS RELEASE: DPH ALERTS DELAWAREANS ABOUT POWDER INFANT FORMULA RECALL
The Delaware Division of Public Health (DPH) is alerting Delaware parents about a September 22, 2010 voluntary recall for certain Similac powder infant formula products. The product manufacturer, Abbott Nutrition, is recalling these products after an internal quality review detected the remote possibility of the presence of a small common beetle in the product produced in one production area in a single manufacturing facility.
The recall of these powder infant formulas includes:
• Certain Similac powder product lines offered in plastic containers.
• Certain Similac powder product lines offered in 8-ounce, 12.4-ounce and 12.9-ounce cans.
Products not involved in the recall include all Abbott Nutrition liquid ready-to-feed and concentrated infant formulas and all powder and liquid specialty formulas.
Products involved in the recall can be identified by lot numbers on the manufacturer’s web site. The Delaware WIC program advises participants to check the lot number of any Similac products (www.similac.com/recall) online to see if it is subject to the recall. Once at the site, visitors are prompted to enter the lot number of the product to determine if it is part of the recall. If that product code is included in the recall, the product should not be fed to babies. Any Delaware WIC participant with affected products should contact their local WIC office or the WIC State agency (1-800 222-2189) and make arrangements to return the product and learn how to get substitute Similac products. They may also call the company’s information line, 1-800-986-8850.

Almost Time for Baby
Baby Showers are lots of fun, so we are always looking for new ideas! Host an Almost Time for Baby Baby Shower. The keyword here is "time".
Each guest is assigned a certain "time" of day in the babies life; For example, story time, bedtime, bath time, feeding time, changing time, sick time, etc etc. You can just ask the guest to bring an item related to their "time of day" right on the invitation.
The guests then bring items relating to that time including books, bottles, blankets, towels, washcloth, a diaper cake........whatever.

When to Throw a Baby Shower
Traditionally, baby showers are held one to two months before the baby is born. This is a good time period, as you don't want to have the shower too close to mommy's due date, and you want to have it early enough so that she has time to return items that she receives duplicates of or needs to exchange gifts.
She will also need time to order or purchase the items she did not receive that may have been on her baby shower registry.
The extra time before the birth also helps The Mommy-To-Be and Daddy-To-Be to set up all the great gifts they received if they building (Pack-n-Play, Crib, Play Mat, etc.).
