The
first person starts by saying the name of something that can be found in a diaper bag (for example, "Inside the diaper bag is diapers"). The next person says that item and adds another ("Inside
the diaper bag is diapers and a bottle"), and the next guest does the same ("Inside the diaper bag is diapers, a bottle and a wipe case").
This continues around the circle. The key is to list everything that was already mentioned, in order, and then add another item.
If someone forgets an item, or lists them in the incorrect order, they are out.

Pinning on the Pinterest the other day, I came across this pin (say that three times fast). Lisajobaker.com has 100 Ways to Encourage a New Mom. On her website she says "Thank you to everyone who encouraged me through each of my three seasons as a sleep-deprived-deeply-exhausted-and-utterly-ecstatic new mom. I’m delighted to pass it on…"
Read the post, you won't be disappointed and it's great information to share.
From time to time, we get questions from our customers and blog readers looking for baby shower tips and advice. A question we get a lot is: When should we have the shower?
A baby shower should be in the third trimester of the pregnancy, maybe a a month or two before the baby's due date. This is a good time because for those who want to know the gender of their baby do by this time. It gives the mommy to be a chance to use the items received at the baby shower to prepare for baby. Some babies arrive a few weeks early, so a month or two before the baby gets here to have the shower should work great.
When opening the baby shower gifts, have each baby shower guest pick up the baby shower gift that they brought and hand it to the Mother to be. Have the mommy-to-be tell everyone the guest's name and how they know the mother to be and a cute little story if possible about their relationship. After she opens the baby shower gift take a picture of the two of them along with the gift and place it in a baby shower photo album!
I have found this to work best, when there are about 10-15 guests, if there is anymore than that, then the game may drag on longer than you want. A good way to shorten the game: instead of the guest handing the gift to the mom to be, when the mom to be gets to the gift, they tell how they know the guest only.
I am a Green Queen! Okay so maybe I'm exaggerating just a tad. I am however very environmentally conscious, even with Wee Bit Trendy. Remember that our products are made to reduce waste, as when you take them apart, 95% of the product is usable or reusable. As we were surfing the world wide web, we came across a Green Gift Idea Checklist that we had to share. Gives great "green" gift ideas that any mommy would love.
Diapers are always needed with a new baby. It's the most practical and useful gift that you can give a family with a new baby.
As the host for the baby shower, you can purchase a package of newborn diapers, and add a sticky note to each one (double-sided tape is also useful for this). As each guest arrives, give them a diaper to write a note of encouragement to the mommy and daddy to be. The first few weeks, even months of parenthood can be tough, so encouragement can help reduce some stress and create smiles during diaper duty.
It's also a great temporary keepsake for the new parents and baby.
Everyone loves a little Bingo now and then, and most of us have played our fair share of your traditional game at a Baby Shower. However, if you want a modern twist to your average baby shower game, try Baby Shower Bingo with a Twist!
Hand out blank bingo-style cards and have guests fill in the squares with gifts they think mom-to-be will receive. As presents are opened, players check off the corresponding squares. Whoever gets five in a row calls out "Baby Bingo" and wins. If nobody gets a bingo, whoever predicts the most gifts correctly wins.
This is also a very easy Do-It-Yourself game. Instead of having to print out images on card, you can just print blank boxes on cards, or blank pieces of paper. Makes for an easy and affordable game.
Look at this cool project we found on Pinterest! We pinned it to our DIY Board, but thought it was a great idea that helps reduce waste, saves money, and looks great! Very creative! We can't wait to try this one and show you our pictures!

I
got into the diaper cake business after hosting my first baby shower. I
really wanted to have a diaper cake as the centerpiece for the table,
but it would not fit in the budget, so I made my own. I was always a
creative person, so it came very easy to me and I had fun doing it. My
first diaper cake was a HIT! After a few
orders from friends, and more satisfied customers, I decided to make it
my business. I not only create diaper cakes but other baby shower gifts,
favors and services.
What makes my business unique is that each and every item is handmade
and no two items are exactly alike. I put a personal touch on
everything I make to ensure that I get a smile from the mom to be and
cool points for the gift giver.
One
of my personal mompreneur heroes is my own mother. My mom has been a
seamstress for over 30 years. She has pretty much always ran her own
business whether she has had a storefront or not and it has been very
successful through the years. She’s worked long days and nights, but
the passion for her craft along with her origianlity and creativity
inspires me as a businesswoman.
Stay
organized, prioritize and always take time for yourself. Being a mom is
a juggling act and to add a business to the mix can keep you on your
toes. Be sure to take some time for yourself. Keeping your supplies
organized can go an extremely long way.
It’s
okay to have someone help you. A lot of the time as mom we have a “I
can do it all” attitude without realizing it. My daughter often asks if
she can help me even with some of the smallest things. The times I do
let her, whether it’s just preparing the supplies or helping me tidy up,
the assistance really goes a long way.
Wee
Bit Trendy is ready for a makeover because we believe Volusion can help
give us the right mix in the website we need and want. We currently
have a web domain where we join together information, our Etsy store and
our blog because it’s the easiest and most affordable way to keep costs
down yet reach our customers. With Volusion’s help we can get a
shopping cart store and website all in one without a ton of fees. It
would also be easy to add products to one location rather than having
our business spread across three sites. We have been in business for a
few years and a great website where we had full control and could sell
our products affordably would be key to expanding our business.
The Information Blanket
is a very cool project conceived and produced by Beattie McGuinness
Bungay New York. Intended as a charity blanket to be donated to kids in
under-developed countries, the blanket is printed with information to
help the mothers learn about their baby’s health. The blankets include
information about breastfeeding, immunization vaccinations, body
temperature and warning signs of illness, all printed in the local
language.
the story of our blanket is one of care and responsible
craftsmanship. it begins with green-sensitive 100% double knit north
carolina cotton. soft and durable, it meets the strictest u.s.
environmental standards on dyes and finishing. when it’s ready, the
fabric is pre-shrunk and shipped to new york city where local craftsmen
cut it to swaddling size and double lock stitch the edges. the
informational graphics are then screen-printed using non-toxic water
based inks. the result is a blanket of the highest individual quality. Our design includes a growth chart with average ranges for one,
three and six months, breastfeeding and vaccination frequency, high
temperature alert, doctors appointment reminder and a list of illness
warning signs.
For each blanket purchased another is given to a mother in her baby in need somewhere else in the world.
To ensure the expectant mommy and daddy, as well as new baby get enough diapers, you can hold a very easy diaper raffle with your guests.
Simply add a note to the invitation that there will be a special raffle for anyone who brings diapers along with their gift.
Everyone who brings any size package of diapers gets entered in a special drawing. You can use raffle tickets, or just simply have each guest write their name down on a strip of paper, and place it in a container.
